Pool Rules & Regulations
Please read & review these rules with your family. Rules will be strictly enforced.
Violation of any rule may result in loss of pool privileges for the remainder of the day at the discretion of the pool attendant. Serious or repeated violations may result in the loss of pool privileges for an indefinite period of time at the discretion of the Oxxford Hunt Board of Directors.
- The Pool Manager is reponsible for the conduct of all pool staff and any problems should be discussed with the Pool Manager, as soon as possible.
- Lifeguards and instructors are present for your protection and their instructions must be followed to insure the safety of members.
- No glass containers of any type are permitted within the pool fence.
- All swimmers must take a soap shower before entering the pool, this includes scalp and face, if they are going to go under water.
- Running, pushing, wrestling, or other forms of horseplay are prohibited in or around the pool and may result in suspension of privileges.
- Depending on the situation, individuals causing disruptive behavior will be asked to stop, leave immediately, or be given time out. Any individual requiring discipline more than two (2) times in a day will lose pool privileges for the remainder of the day.
- No pets are allowed in our around the pool area.
- Water wings will not be permitted in the pool. Life jackets or children's safety flotation devices will be permitted only when a child is accompanied by a responsible adult, within arms reach, in the shallow parts of the pool, in the 2 1/2 - 4 foot area.
- Beach balls, inner tubes, Frisbees, or rafts in the pool will be at the lifeguard's discretion.
- No bicycles, rollerblades, rollerskates, or skateboards are allowed inside the pool area.
- Only one person is permitted on the diving board at a time.
- Fins, masks, and snorkels are allowed only during inactive periods, and are permitted by individuals under 16 years of age only at the discretion of the lifeguards.
- Any individual bringing a radio to the pool area is requested to be considerate of those individuals around them. The volume is to be kept low.
- Please dispose of your trash.
- Cigarettes must be disposed of before entering the pool area in the receptacles provided. Smoking will not be permitted inside the fenced area of the pool.
- The pool is for the exclusive use of Oxxford Hunt Community Association members and their guests. The homeowners association and its management company assume no liability for injuries.
- Willful damage done to the pool, clubhouse, tennis courts by a member or their invited guests will be cause for the responsible individual to be charged restoration costs. Homeowners are responsible for their guests' actions.
- There will be a 10 minute break at 50 minutes past the hour for all children between ages 2 - 18. Children under 2 must be accompanied by an adult in the pool.
- No one under the age of 21 may have alcoholic beverages on Oxxford Hunt premises.
- No one shall possess illegal substances on Oxxford Hunt recreation premises.
- No one with any known, or suspected, contagious disease, or skin lesions will be allowed admittance to the Oxxford Hunt pool without a doctor's written permission of current date.
- Children in diapers or those that are not completely toilet-trained will be requested to wear swim diapers and be required to wear plastic pants under their swimming suits in accordance with NC Health Department codes. No exceptions to the rule. Disposable diapers are not permitted in the pool. Please be courteous and put a diaper on your child when they are through swimming.
- Any person caught intentionally defecating in the pool will be charged a fee of $150 for additional chemicals and required cleaning. Parents: Please discuss this situation as it will not be tolerated at our pool. However, if an accident should occur, please quickly remove the child from the pool and notify the manager immediately. This child should be required to wear snug-fitting rubber pants or a swim diaper for the remainder of the summer. Please be aware of your child's toilet habits and take them to the toilet frequently. That's what break time is for.
- The pool and deck area will be evacuated during any emergency situation or lightning and thunder. Participants may reenter the pool 30 minutes after the last heard thunderclap or when directed by pool staff.
- Proper attire is required. No cut-off shorts are permitted in the pool.
- The pool is to be used only when lifeguards are on duty during scheduled hours.
- At designated times, the pool will have certain areas reserved for class lessons or special events.
- The management is not responsible for the loss of personal belongings on the premises.
- The telephone is required by NC state law for emergency purposes. Usage for purposes other than emergencies is permitted provided that the call is local and restricted to two minutes. The lifeguards are not responsible for answering the telephone. Phone usage is a privilege and will be denied to anyone abusing it.
- The pool is not available for rent for private functions.
